In Conversation with Mr Ravi Kumar about the caste and identity issues in the United Kingdom

Ravi Kumar is a human rights and equality campaigner based in the UK. Over the years he has worked with numerous Dalit communities as well as campaigns across the UK, including the Ravidassia, Valmikis, Ambedkarites, Dalit Christians, Asian Rationalists, Indian Workers Association & the Indian left, and others. Ravi sees strength, power and energy across the Dalit communities, and is working towards building a united front and helping empower Dalits to ‘stake their claim’ and for Dalits themselves to lead their campaigns at a national, & International level. Ravi has been a driving force in the campaign to outlaw Caste-based discrimination in the UK. He has also lobbied at a regional, national and International level about the issues that Dalits face, including lobbying state representatives at the United Nations. Ravi is the current General Secretary of the Anti Caste Discrimination Alliance (ACDA), and he is one of the founding members of both CasteWatchUK and the ACDA. Professionally, Ravi is a skilled stakeholder manager who is currently working within economic regeneration, with a focus on: health, life Sciences, digital infrastructure, 5G, and other sectors. Outside of work Ravi is a mentor and coach. He has volunteered for a range of charities and causes over the past 20 years
