The Indian Workers Association (Great Britain) strongly condemns the military aggression carried out by the United States against the sovereign nation of Venezuela.
The military intervention, authorised and led by the current President of the United States, Donald Trump, represents a dangerous and unlawful act of imperialism. Such actions violate international law, undermine national sovereignty, and pose a serious threat to peace and stability in Latin America and across the world.
The IWA rejects the false justifications of “democracy”, “security”, or “anti-drug operations” that are repeatedly used to disguise imperialist interventions, regime-change agendas, and the pursuit of geopolitical dominance and control over natural resources. The people of Venezuela alone have the right to decide their future, free from foreign interference, coercion, or military force.
We are deeply concerned that powerful Western states continue to act with impunity, ignoring the devastating human cost of military aggression and economic sanctions. These policies primarily harm working people, the poor, and the most vulnerable, while serving the interests of multinational corporations and global elites.
The Indian Workers Association (Great Britain) calls for:
• An immediate end to all military aggression and foreign interference in Venezuela
• Full respect for Venezuelan sovereignty and international law
• The lifting of economic sanctions that punish ordinary people
• A commitment to peace, dialogue, and international solidarity
We also urge the British government to clearly distance itself from imperialist military actions and to stand firmly on the side of peace, justice, and the right of nations to self-determination.
