Birmingham (S.W. Bureau) – On Tuesday, 5th June, the 42nd edition of the United Kingdom’s premier subcontract manufacturing supply chain show SUBCORN was inaugurated in the world famous National Exhibition Centre NEC in the city of Birmingham. A leading team of 47 Indian entrepreneurs is participating under the banner of EEPC India. Dr. Aman Puri, Consul General of India, Birmingham visited the exhibition in the morning and met all the entrepreneurs on their stalls. This is a three days event from 5 – 7 June. EEPC India is the premier trade and investment promotion organization in India. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and caters to the Indian engineering sector. Set up in 1955, EEPC India now has a membership base of over 13,000 predominantly drawing from MSME segment which has over 60% representation. This show is also important to encourage foreign investments in line with the newly initiated “Make in India”. Keeping Engineering the Future as the motto, EEPC India continues its tireless service as an effort to convert India as the Global Engineering Hub.
This three day India Pavilion in SUBCON event is being held under the able guidance and supervision of one of the most talented officers of EEPC India, Mr. Nishikant Jumde, Sr. Joint Director. He is actively associated with different promotional activities undertaken by EEPC India. In a special interview with Mr. Jumde, he told that the primary motive of EEPC India to organize such events is to provide the SMEs entrepreneurs from India an opportunity at international level where they can compete with their counterparts in global market. He further expressed his concern about the issuance of visas by the British immigration authority. The process is very expensive and time consuming. He suggested that British government should have liberal attitude in providing visas to business entrepreneurs from India so that more and more traders can avail the benefit of such trade exhibitions.
