London (Asian Independent)-  A delegation of Amritsar Vikas Manch (AVM) and FlyAmritsar Initiative (FAI), comprising of Manmohan Singh Brar, Patron AVM, Yogesh Kamra, Convener (India) FAI and Ravreet Singh, Member FAI and an aviation enthusiast, recently met up with the Chief Executive Officer Satnam Singh Saini and Amit Dhiman, General Manager India of the British start-up airline, Hans Airways.

In a press release, Manmohan Singh Brar, shared the information that the meeting was recently held to discuss the upcoming launch of non-stop flights between Birmingham and Amritsar by Hans Airways. The delegation congratulated the team for its launch and welcomed the decision to choose Amritsar as its first international destination. The selection of Amritsar as the airline’s very first route from Birmingham, represents the strong confidence of airlines in the market of Amritsar in Punjab. It will not only benefit the diaspora with more options of travel between the two cities, but also the agriculture and cargo industry of Punjab, added Brar.

Brar said, this a remarkable achievement for Amritsar airport, as it continues to lure international airlines in its ever-growing international market. This would be the first time that a UK-based airline carrier will be launching operations, with the holy city of Amritsar as its first route. There is currently huge demand on this route as Air India is operating only a 1-weekly flight schedule and the diaspora is facing the inconvenience of flying from London or via other airports. This will be a big relief for the passengers. We wish Hans Airways team the best for their ambitious plans.

Satnam Singh Saini, shared information that, Hans Airways intends to connect the Punjabi diaspora across India, Europe and North America, and aims to become “Punjabi’s carrier of choice”. Hans Airways would be providing the agriculture industry of Punjab an opportunity, to directly export fresh vegetables, etc., to Birmingham and other cities across UK, added Saini.

As per Saini, Hans Airways earlier in August received its first Airbus A330-200 aircraft at its main hub, Birmingham Airport, UK (BHX). The airline has been successfully moving forward in obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals by UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and other concerned authorities, as per its plan. It is now in the last phase of completing all the obligations in obtaining its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from CAA and will be ready to commence scheduled operations within the upcoming weeks. Our team at Hans Airways, including the management and operations are fully prepared and very excited for the near future.
