Chandigarh, A floating light and sound show was organised at Ropar town of Punjab in the Satluj river to commemorate the 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker K. P. Rana inaugurated the show, while Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Charanjit Singh Channi was also present.
Rana said the light and sound show beautifully projected Guru Nanak Dev’s philosophy in the form of his universal message to society.
Through the show the ethos of tolerance, peace, communal harmony, women empowerment and protection of natural resources were brought alive, he said.
Such shows would be organised at various places in the state during the coming four months.
Expressing his views, minister Channi said, “It is the matter of honour for us that we got the chance to celebrate the 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev.”
Flowing through 10 districts of the state which includes Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Gurdaspur, Moga, Kapurthala, Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Ferozepur, this show would also be organised on October 18 in Ropar.
Light and sound shows would be organised continuously for nine days at Sultanpur Lodhi from November 4.
