Economic Conclave –  Rural India: Road to US $5 Trillion Economy by 2025

PHD Chamber(National Apex Chamber) has been contributing to building the nation since 1905. The experienced and erudite board members have been playing a catalyst role in raising the voice of the industry to assist the government to make meaningful policies for sustainable and inclusive growth. To fulfill the objectives, PHD chamber organizes seminars and conferences across the globe. One day Economic conclave on the theme “ Rural India: Road to US $5 Trillion Economy by 2025 “ was organized at Delhi office.  Shri  Subash Chandra Garg, Secretary Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance was the Chief Guest at the conclave. Shri Garg during his brief speech apprised the participants that the government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi is likely to achieve the target of US $ 5 Trillion economy in 2025. The current policies aimed at the sustainable and inclusive growth of the country is going to clear the road for the achievable goal, he said. However, the volatility of the market allude challenges in the path yet there is buoyancy among the investors as well the consumers in the Indian emerging market, he said.

Eminent economists such as Dr Pronab Sen, Prof Jaimini Bhagwati, Prof N.R. Bhanumurthy deliberated on the theme.  Shri  Anil Khaitan, President of the PHD Chamber welcomed the eminent speakers and participants and spoke briefly about the theme. Mr Vijay Mehta, Mr D. K. Aggarwal had also deliberated on the issue.  The issue was discussed at length by the eminent economists.  There is a weakening of statistical data. Strengthening of institutions to achieve the target goal is paramount, said, Prof N.R. Bhanumurthy. The session was followed by Q/A. The eminent participants from the industry and media interacted with the eminent speakers.
