New Delhi,   Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash on Friday said the approval for the CCTV project in the city has been given in a ‘haste’, following which the Delhi government warned him to desist from such conduct.

Rejecting the Chief Secretary’s note sent to the Cabinet, the latter said it “warns him (Prakash) to desist from such conduct in future”.

“The entire Cabinet is shocked to read the CS’s note saying that the Cabinet is showing undue haste in considering this issue.

“More than three years have elapsed since the Cabinet first decided to install CCTVs on October 13, 2015. It is shocking that the CS still finds it hasty,” said the Cabinet in its response.

A Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal approved the closed-circuit television project for Delhi on Friday.

Announcing this in the Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the Cabinet had received a note from the top bureaucrat in which he called the decision hasty. The Cabinet later issued a response note to the official.
