Panaji, Goa’s ruling BJP in Goa on Wednesday said the Congress rejuvenation in the coastal state was due to its assumption of power in Karnataka by “unfair” means.
Addressing a press conference in Margao town in South Goa, Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Subhash Phaldessai also said that the Goa Congress’ public outreach initiative ‘Jana Gana Mana’ was aimed at creating confusion among the minds of Goans.
“The Congress in Goa appears to have been encouraged after the party installed a (coalition) government in Karnataka by unfair means.
“The Congress is also trying to instigate people by launching the ‘Jana Gana Mana’ programme. What they are trying to actually do is create unrest in the minds of people in Goa against the functioning of the BJP-led coalition government,” Phaldessai said.
The ‘Jana Gana Mana’ programme launched earlier this week involves state Congress leaders fanning to different parts of the state, using public transport like buses, taxis and auto-rickshas and engaging with the public.
