Congress calls meeting of senior leaders on Nov 16

New Delhi,  Ahead of the crucial Parliament session and the five-phased Jharkhand Assembly polls from November 30, the Congress has called a meeting of all the general secretaries, state in-charges on November 16 to prepare a roadmap.

A senior party leader related to the development said that a meeting has been called of all the general secretaries, state in-charges, secretaries and head of frontal organisations on November 16 in Delhi by party interim President Sonia Gandhi.

He said, the meeting has been called to discuss the party’s strategy for the Winter Session of Parliament commencing from November 18.

He said the party wants to discuss the important bills that the government likely to bring in the Parliament.

Besides the Parliament session, the meeting will also discuss the party’s preparation in Jharkhand, where the Assembly elections for the 81 seats is scheduled from November 30 to December 20.

The Congress is contesting the Assembly elections in the state in alliance with Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.

He said, during the meeting, the leaders will also discuss the membership drive across the country to strengthen the party.
