Jaipur,   BJP chief Amit Shah on Wednesday said the battle for the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly, voting for which is due on December 7, would be against casteism and dynasty politics in which the youth’s role would be significant.

Participating in a party programme ‘Yuva ri baat, Amit Shah re Saath’ at Tagore Vidyalaya Auditorium in the state capital, Shah said the BJP has been successful in removing the curse of casteism and dynasty politics that “grew under the 50-year Congress rule.”

Quoting a recent incident in Bikaner where a Congress worker was forced to raise slogans praising Sonia Gandhi while being prevented from chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki jai’, he said: “What other example can be quoted in the context of dynasty politics,” he asked.

Shah lauded the Vasundhara Raje-led government saying the state’s economic growth has been phenomenal. “The government has managed to increase the groundwater level in the arid zone for which she should be congratulated,” he added.

He asked Congress president Rahul Gandhi to “stop talking on issues of love and harmony”. “The Congress President should remember how the party treated former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and senior leader Sitaram Kesari. The stories of their insult is known to all,” he said.
