Beijing,   British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt will pay an official visit to China on July 30 at the invitation of Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, it was announced here on Monday.

During the visit, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Yang Jiechi will meet Hunt, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang.

Wang and Hunt will co-host the 9th China-UK Strategic Dialogue and exchange views on bilateral relations and international and regional hotspot issues, Xinhua news agency reported.

“The China-UK relationship enjoys a sound momentum for development at this point,” Geng said.

Earlier this year, British Prime Minister Theresa May visited China, marking another round of the annual meeting with the Chinese Premier. Leaders of both countries reached important consensus on pushing forward the “Golden Era” for China-UK relations, Geng said.
