Punjab Government Organises Seminar Dedicated to 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji

Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar,   (Asian independent)   (Jatinderpal Singh kaler ) A special seminar on the theme “Bani and Teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji” was organised at LAMRIN Tech Skills University, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, as part of the celebrations dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
During the seminar, prominent personalities from the Sant Samaj and education sector shared their views on the life, philosophy, Bani and humanistic thought of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. They called for strengthening the values of equality, brotherhood, mutual harmony and social justice in society.
Representing the Sant Samaj, Sant Kewal Singh from ‘Tap Asthan Sri Khuralgarh Sahib’, Sant Surinder Singh from ‘Charan Choh Sachkhand Begampura, Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, and Sant Satwinder Hira, National President of All India Adi-Dharm Mission, participated in the seminar and spoke about the life, philosophy and teachings of Guru Ji and their relevance in the present era.
Sant Kewal Singh said that the Bani of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji inspires people to look within themselves, follow the path of truth and treat every human being with equality and dignity. He said the concept of Begampura envisioned by Guru Ji inspires the creation of a society free from discrimination, fear and injustice.
Sant Surinder Singh said that through his Bani, Sri Guru Ravidas Ji conveyed the message of love, brotherhood and social equality to the entire humanity. He said that instead of limiting Guru Ji’s teachings to religious programmes and occasions, adopting them in everyday life can further strengthen harmony and unity in society.
Sant Satwinder Hira said that the philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji is rooted in human dignity and social justice and continues to be highly inspiring for the younger generation. He said that inspired by Guru Ji’s life and Bani, young people can move forward on the path of education, hard work, service and social responsibility.
Punjab Cabinet Minister for Defence Services Welfare, Freedom Fighters and Horticulture, Mohinder Bhagat, in his address, said that the life of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji conveys the message of service to humanity, social equality, hard work, harmony and brotherhood. Guru Ji envisioned a society where no person was discriminated against on the basis of caste, class or any other consideration.
He said Guru Ji’s Bani not only provides spiritual guidance but also inspires people to improve social life and is a universal message that goes beyond any particular section, community or religion. He called upon the youth to understand Guru Ji’s teachings and make them an integral part of their conduct and daily lives.
Member of Parliament Malvinder Singh Kang said that centuries ago, Sri Guru Ravidas Ji gave humanity the message of equality and mutual respect, which remains equally relevant today. He said discussions of this nature in educational institutions are extremely important for taking Guru Ji’s philosophy to the younger generation. He encouraged students to study Guru Ji’s Bani, understand their social responsibilities and make a constructive contribution to society.
MLA Santosh Kataria said the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji show humanity the path of unity, love, brotherhood and equality. She said Guru Ji’s message needs to be understood not only from a religious or spiritual perspective but also in the context of social life. She encouraged students to use education for personal development as well as to become agents of positive change in society.
Keynote speaker, Prof. Avtar Singh, former Associate Professor and Head, Postgraduate Department of Punjabi, Ramgarhia College, Phagwara, elaborated on various aspects of the life, Bani and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. He said Guru Ji’s Bani carries a profound message of human dignity, social equality, self-respect, hard work and spiritual awareness.
He called upon students not to limit themselves to merely reading Guru Ji’s teachings but to understand their essence and incorporate them into their lives.
Prof. Avtar Singh further said that at a time when society is undergoing rapid change, the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji can play an important role in guiding the younger generation. By strengthening education, mutual respect, social equality and the spirit of humanity, society can be shaped in accordance with Guru Ji’s ideals.
During the programme, the distinguished personalities present were honoured, while the university management expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries for attending the seminar.
It was highlighted that the Punjab Government is organising various programmes dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji to take his Bani, life and humanistic philosophy to the general public, particularly the youth. Seminars, documentary shows, drone shows and other programmes are being organised as part of these initiatives.
Vice Chancellor of Lamrin Tech Skills University, Prof. Dr. A.S. Chawla, thanked the Punjab Government for organising the seminar dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
Among those present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner Avneet Kaur, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. B.S. Satyal, Assistant Director of Higher Education Rajesh Kumar, Dushyant Rajput, Baba Naresh Singh of Tap Asthan Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, Sant Om Prakash, Dean, Pharmacy College, Naresh Gill, Executive Dean Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, and a large number of students.
