Nawanshahr (Asian independent) (Jatinder Pal Singh Kaler ): The Aam Aadmi Party received a major boost in village Jandi of Balachaur constituency when incumbent Sarpanch Gurcharan Singh, along with several influential families, bade farewell to other parties and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. On this occasion, Constituency MLA Santosh Kataria and senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashok Kataria specially visited village Jandi. They thoroughly reviewed the ongoing development works in the village and inspected the work currently underway. The MLA specifically inspected the street leading to the Sheetla Mata Temple and the cremation ground, which was recently constructed with concrete, and expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work. Fulfilling a long-standing demand of the villagers, MLA Santosh Kataria announced a special grant of ₹5 lakh on the panchayat’s demand to build a new playground for the village children, triggering a wave of joy across the village. The panchayat and intellectuals of the village expressed heartfelt gratitude to MLA Santosh Kataria and ‘AAP’ leader Ashok Kataria, honoring them by presenting mementos. During the same event, a major shift in village politics was witnessed. Sarpanch Gurcharan Singh, Satpal Bhumbla, Mohinder Pal, Sohan Lal, and Master Kuldeep Chand, along with several families, formally joined the Aam Aadmi Party and assured the MLA of their full support for the all-round development of the village. Welcoming all the new associates into the party, MLA Santosh Kataria assured them that they would be given due respect and high importance in the party, and their every problem would be resolved on a priority basis. On this occasion, Aam Aadmi Party worker Keemti Lal and Sarpanch Gurcharan Singh thanked everyone. The event was attended by former Sarpanch Balwinder Bath, Kamaljit Bath, Charanjit Bath, Pawan Chechi, Bhajan Singh Panch, Roshan Lal Bhumbla, Ravinder Panch, Ram Lal Bhumbla, Mohan Singh, and Manmohan Chechi Panch, alongside a large number of dignitaries and villagers.
