Every year, Congress throws itself an anniversary party for the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Speeches. Tweets. Big words like “turning point” and “new hope.” What’s missing? Votes.
Since the yatra ended, Congress has lost election after election: Haryana, Delhi, more. The yatra made headlines. It didn’t make governments. Walking across India for months looks impressive on camera, but it doesn’t fix a broken party machine, doesn’t recruit strong candidates, and doesn’t give voters a single reason to switch sides.
Real opposition means real work. It means fighting the BJP in Parliament, exposing corruption with facts, and organizing at the ground level, not showing up once a year to mourn a march that didn’t translste into vote winning government. Anniversaries are cheap. Accountability is not.
India doesn’t need a party that remembers its own history. It needs one that changes its future. Right now, Congress is doing the first and failing at the second.
