Jalandhar    (Asian independent)   Ambedkar Mission Society (Regd.) Punjab organized a seminar dedicated to the fourth pre-nirvana day of late Shri Lahori Ram Balley Ji. Professor Jagmohan Singh, nephew of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, participated in the seminar as the main speaker and Satnam Singh Manak, senior journalist of Ajit Samachar Group, participated as the special speaker. The chief guest, Professor Jagmohan Singh, recalled the first meeting with Shri Lahori Ram Balley Ji at the village of Shaheed-Azam S. Bhagat Singh Ji in 1949 and said that my mother Bibi Amar Kaur Ji, (younger sister of Shaheed Bhagat Singh) considered Balley Sahib as her brother. He said that my mother, while handing over my hand to Balley Sahib, had instructed me that from today onwards, you have to mature in your thoughts by following in the footsteps of Balley Sahib. Professor Jagmohan Singh said that Balley ji was a fearless, dauntless and unparalleled personality. He was a serious writer, journalist and influential speaker who raised his voice strongly against the capitalist and oppressive policies of the government. Through his writings and the movements he started from time to time, he raised the flag of the revolutionary ideology movement of Ambedkarism in the whole of India including Punjab. The chief guest said that the Ambedkar Bhawan built under the patronage of Balley ji is a historical and memorable place from where Dr. Ambedkar Sahib’s theoretical philosophy is propagated. He suggested to the Ambedkar Mission Society that by organizing regular workshops in the Bhawan, the youth, especially school students, should be connected with Baba Saheb’s concepts of equality, freedom, brotherhood, social justice and rationality. The special guest of the event, senior journalist and eminent intellectual, editor of Rojana Ajit, who has written serious and meaningful articles on the problems faced by Punjab, Punjabi, Punjabiyat and Indians, Mr. Satnam Singh Manak Ji, said that Balley Saheb has always been a source of inspiration for me. He considered Dr. Ambedkar Saheb’s policy of struggle for secular, democratic and betterment of backward and Dalit society as the main purpose of his life and lived a continuous life of struggle through his writings and movements. Manak Ji said that at present, Hindutva forces have taken over all the institutions of the country and through constitutional amendments like one-nation, one-election and new constituency delimitation, they are trying to harm Dalits, minorities and the federal structure of India. Higher education has been made out of the reach of the common man. He said that today’s India is a scared country. Manak Ji said that to get out of this terrible situation, the Tathagata Buddha, Sufis, Bhakti movement, Gurmat movement, Ghadari movement and   those who believe in the ideology of Dr. Ambedkar, who started the intellectual revolution, need to come together on one platform and struggle to save the Indian Constitution, democracy, the rights of Dalits and minorities, only then can the growing influence of the Hindu Rashtra be eliminated. Eminent writer and intellectual Dr. Surinder Ajnat said that Balley Sahib was a serious thinker, a committed Ambedkarite, writer, a great warrior who constantly struggled for the oppressed. His entire life was dedicated to the ideology of Buddha and Ambedkar and through his writings and speeches he spread a new consciousness in the Dalit society.
