Kabaddi Community Mourns the Passing of Piara Singh Randhawa

Leicester, 10 March — The Kabaddi community has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of well-known Kabaddi player Piara Singh Randhawa, who died on the night of 9 March at the age of 70.

The National Committee of the Indian Workers Association (Great Britain) held an emergency Zoom meeting to pay tribute to his life and contribution to the sport. A condolence resolution was passed unanimously.

Those attending the meeting included Rashpal Singh Dosanjh (Coventry), Dalwinder Singh Atwal (East London), Salwinder Singh Dhillon (Southall), Sital Singh Gill, Mangat Singh Sal, K B Dhindsa and Multan Singh (Leicester).

Randhawa, who played Kabaddi from Leicester, represented the National Kabaddi Federation England and participated in international matches in England, Canada and other countries. He brought recognition to both Leicester and the United Kingdom through his achievements.

Even at the age of 70, he remained active in Kabaddi, supporting and encouraging younger players. His passing is considered a great loss to the Kabaddi community.
