Call for a Broad National Platform Against the Hindutva–Corporate Nexus; New Leadership Elected

New Delhi  (Asian independent)  The All India People’s Front (AIPF) held its two-day Fourth National Convention at Surjeet Bhawan, New Delhi, bringing together representatives from partner organisations, social movements and civil society. The convention opened under the joint chairmanship of senior leaders including Prof. Arun Kumar, AIPF National President S.R. Darapuri, and representatives from Swaraj India, Navnirman Krishak Dal, Rashtra Uday Party, Karnataka Jan Shakti, Tamizh People’s Front and others. The sessions were conducted by Gandhian thinker Kumar Shubhamoorty.

Speaking at the inaugural session, AIPF National President S.R. Darapuri stressed that the Hindutva–corporate alliance has created a profound crisis for the Indian Republic, making it urgent to build a broad national political platform committed to democracy and social justice.
Prof. Arun Kumar highlighted the need for nationwide initiatives addressing employment, livelihoods, agriculture, MSMEs, and resource redistribution through proper taxation of extreme wealth. He also emphasised empowerment and representation of youth, women, SC/ST communities, extremely backward groups, and Pasmanda Muslims.

Messages of support from CPI(M) former General Secretary Prakash Karat, former Commerce Secretary S.P. Shukla and noted thinker Prem Kumar Mani were shared. Advocate Prashant Bhushan called for a major national campaign on employment, noting that AI-driven economic changes are amplifying global concerns over jobs and resource distribution.

Speakers from Odisha, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and other regions highlighted corporate exploitation, people’s movements, and the need for nationwide campaigns on employment and social rights. Youth representatives underlined growing despair among young people and stressed organising them around public sector employment and livelihood issues.

New Leadership and Committees Formed

On the second day, the convention completed its organisational review and elected new leadership.
S.R. Darapuri was re-elected National President, Dr. Rahul Das as General Secretary, and Kashu Shubhamoorty as Organising General Secretary. Naseem Khan and Vijay Singh were elected National Vice Presidents. Pushpa Oraon, Savita Gond, Amrita and Amar Singh were appointed as Secretaries. Mr. Dinkar Kapoor was appointed as Treasurer and Mr. Suresh Chandra Bind will be the office secretary.

A 43-member National Committee and a 19-member National Working Committee were constituted, along with an Advisory Board comprising senior scholars, social leaders and experts.

Key Political Deliberations

AIPF founding member Akhilendra Pratap Singh warned that global finance capital is the driving force behind the rise of Hindutva, threatening the Constitution, democracy and social justice. He called for a broad democratic alliance beyond narrow political frameworks to counter this danger.

He also stressed the need for a new national discourse on how capital, technology and markets should be structured, how productive forces can become self-reliant, and how development can remain people-centred.

Discussions also covered challenges in global politics, the limitations of BRICS, and the need for stronger Global South solidarity. Scientists Dinesh Abrol and Dr. Raman emphasised the importance of science and rationality, warning that irrationality and superstition being promoted by power structures contradict constitutional values.

Convention Resolution

The two-day deliberations concluded with the following key points:

  • Formation of a broad democratic platform against the Hindutva–corporate alliance is a historic necessity.
  • A people’s-democratic direction based on the rights of youth, women, farmers, workers, Dalits, OBCs and marginalised communities is essential for the country’s future.
  • AIPF will launch major national initiatives in the coming year focused on employment, social rights, democratic institutions and economic justice.

The convention concluded with a vote of thanks by Acharya Shubhamurti, reaffirming a commitment to collective struggle and nationwide mobilisation.
