(THE ASIAN INDEPENDENT)- The Ambedkar Association of North America (AANA) is happy to share that our annual retreat was a big success. We had over 150 participants from all over USA attend the retreat. The retreat was held from May 24, 2024 until May 27, 2024 in Keezeltown, VA, USA. Dr. Rajratna Ambedkar was the chief guest who joined us all the way from India. We also distributed our annual awards for this year as follows:
Dr. Ambedkar International Award for Mr. J.V Pawar
Savitrimai Phule International Award for Ms. Nirmala Grace
Mooknayak Excellency in Journalism Award to The News Beak Social Media Channel
We had several community building events, games and activities for children and adults. We had several close discussions with Dr. Rajratna Ambedkar and other members on how to take Babasaheb’s caravan forward. Additionally, we also had a ceremony to honor and remember Mata Ramabai Ambedkar on her death anniversary with a member of her family, Dr. Rajratna Ambedkar present, which made this ceremony special.
With our goal to bring our community together holistically, our annual retreat has become an event that our members look forward to, throughout the year.
