67th ‘PARINIRVANA DIVAS’ COMMEMORATION OF Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar by FABO UK

(Asian Independent)- The Federation of Ambedkarite and Buddhist Organisations (FABO UK) coordinated the 67th Parinirvana Divas event to honour Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. The proceedings commenced with a floral tribute to Dr. Babasaheb at the Ambedkar Museum by His Excellency Shri Sujit Ghost, Acting High Commissioner and the office bearers of FABO in the afternoon.

Subsequently, at 4 PM, the guests participated in the program hosted by the High Commissioner of India at the Ambedkar Hall, India House, Aldwych, London. The gathering commenced with the National Anthem of India. High commission’s Minister of Co-ordination Shri Deepak Choudhary welcomed the guests, followed by floral tributes by the dignitaries to the Babasaheb statue in the Ambedkar Hall. An audio-visual film was played depicting the life of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, created by the High Commission. This audio-video presentation served as a poignant tribute, providing insights into the remarkable journey and contributions of Dr. Ambedkar to the upliftment of society. Later chanting of Buddhist prayer administered by the honourable Rev Bambarabotuve Ananda Mangala, offering refuge to Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha and blessings followed by Bhim Stuti – Bhim Smaran.

FABO office bearers’ Mr Jagdish Gaware, Vice President and Mr Pankaj Shamkunwar, General Secretary of FABO UK paid short homages to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar through their speeches on life and achievements of Babasaheb and women empowerment through education respectively.

C Gautam Joint Secretary FABO, UK paid rich tribute as a key note speaker to share the vision of Babasaheb by highlight the contribution of the greatest Indian ever through the account by biographer Dhanjay Keer. His Excellency Shri Sujit Ghost, acting high commissioner also paid his tribute to Babasaheb through his contribution to the Indian democracy and highlighting his social and economic contribution for the welfare of the country. The programme concluded by vote of thanks by Shri Sanjay Kumar Second Secretary (Co-ordination) High Commission of India.
