Thiruvananthapuram, (Asian independent) The Congress on Wednesday alleged that the office of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has now become the nerve centre of all activities and is giving out instructions to create trouble to divert attention from his present problems.

Leader of Opposition V.D.Satheesan said gone are the days when the power centre when the CPI-M rules the state was their party headquarters here.

“Now that has moved from there to the office of the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The present fiasco now being unleashed by the CPI-M after strong protests has surfaced demanding his resignation after the revelation that has come out is being done purposely. The CPI-M is now searching for a martyr as they are unable to handle the present revelations and is trying their best to provocate us,” he alleged.

“Just look there has been absolute mayhem all across the state unleashed by the CPI-M. Three criminals were sent to my official residence (on Tuesday) and this was the work of the office of Vijayan. The arrested party workers got bail from the police station and here too the office of Vijayan intervened.”

Since last Saturday all across the state there has been a massive protest by the Congress and the BJP demanding the resignation of Vijayan after Swapna Suresh – the prime accused in the gold smuggling case – accused Vijayan, his wife, and daughter of involvement in smuggling of currency and gold.

Countering the protests of the opposition, the CPI-M cadres are also out in large numbers and at several places, the Congress’ offices have been attacked and damaged.

“Our patience should not be tested. We will continue with our protests in the most democratic way,” added Satheesan.
