Paris, (Asian independent) Tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas was in the mood for some fun when he gave Nick Kyrgios an unwelcome gift via social media on the latter’s 25th birthday.
In an Instagram post, Greek tennis player Tsitsipas was seen standing in an outdoor location with a phone number written on a white board with “call me” written on top of it.
Fans thought it was Tsitsipas’ number only to find out the number was Australian and linked to Kyrgios, who was celebrating his 25th birthday on Monday.
“You are an absolute i****” Kyrgios posted, adding, “everyone stop calling me!!!!!”
All professional tennis activities remain suspended till July 13 due to coronavirus outbreak which has so far claimed more than 2 lakh lives across the world.
World No. 2 Rafael Nadal has said he is “very pessimistic” over the normal resumption of the professional tennis circuit which has come to a grinding halt due to the pandemic.
“From my point of view, I’m very pessimistic that the circuit can resume a normal activity,” Nadal said in a virtual chat organised by the Spanish Federation of Tennis (RFET).
“In tennis, you need to travel every week, stay in hotels, go to different countries.
“Even if we play without an audience, to organise any event you need a lot of people involved, which cannot be ignored. At an international level I see a serious problem,” he added.
