New Delhi,  Calling the Bharatiya Janata Party “opportunistic and power-hungry”, Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal here on Wednesday criticised the BJP for its alleged attempt to topple the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh through horse-trading, an allegation that has been denied by the BJP.

“While the nation is reeling under an imminent danger of coronavirus, Delhi riots and economic slowdown, the BJP is busy with its usual tactic of horse-trading. The BJP is desperately trying to topple down the Congress government,” Venugopal said.

Using strong words against the Prime Minister, the Congress labelled the charge of “treachery” against Narendra Modi and the BJP.

“In MP, this dissolute political treachery of the BJP is going to fall flat on its face,” he claimed.

The Congress government, led by Kamal Nath, would complete its full term, he added.
