On the 24th February 2024, Satguru Ravidass Ji’s Pargat Utsab will be celebrated worldwide.
It will also be celebrated in Bhagwan Valmiki Mandir In Bedford – England – UK.
In this Mandir, Guru Ravidass Ji’s Pargat Utsab has been celebrated for many years.
Guru Ravidass Sabha has also been doing the same. Dr Ambedkar Ji’s anniversaries are jointly celebrated. Bedford has believed in joint performance since 1960’s.

In the past, many difficulties have come upon the Valmikian and the Ravidassia communities in Bedford but have been overcome by jointly sticking together.  Late Mr Chahal and late Kuldip Rai were active members and are remembered for their devotion.

Late Mr Chahal’s name often comes up during Dr Ambedkar Ji’s celebrations and late Kuldip Rai is remembered for promoting Guru Ravidass Ji’s literature.

My father late Shree H. R. Teji sahib Ji, in !960’s started ‘The Nagh Vansh Adhi-Vasi Bharati Sewa Dal’ in Bedford.  He was a very knowledgeable person who saw at that time that the unity between the Valmikian and the Ravidassia brotherhood is needed.

I think it was his influence that has played a big part in getting these two communities close together.  I remember at that time; our house was always busy because the members from these both communities were constantly coming to him to learn about the religious and social development of India since Arian arrival

I do remember he use to drum this message into them that although we are living separately in the villages and keeping apart but in about 50 to 60-years to survive we will have to get together.  His prediction is coming true.

Unfortunately, our people at that had very limited knowledge and could not understand him.  I do remember him saying that our communities are a hundred year behind and they lack of knowledge in regard to the Nagh Vansh and the Adhi Vassi history.

After my father’s demise, I realised how knowledgeable he was and felt that I have a duty to promote his feelings he had.  His main wish was to amalgamate  the Valmikian and the Ravidassia Communities.

To promote this, about fifteen years ago, I approached Gianni Gurmit Singh Sandhu Ji of Leicester – England UK for his help. He and his family have greatly helped me in promoting Bhagwan Valmiki Ji’s name.  I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.

I also wish to thank Devinder Chander Ji – (Proprietor and Chief Editor – Samaj Weekly) for publishing my letters.  Without his help, I would have failed in fulfilling and promoting my late father’s wishes.  I whole heartily appreciate his kind assistance.

Mohinder Mahedu proprietor of the Sach Da Suraj and the Noor Records, also deserves credit because he has greatly assisted me in fulfilling my wishes. We both hold of same opinion that Bhagwan Valmiki Ji and Sat Guru Ravi Dass Ji are Prakash meaning JOT of the Adhi – Dharam.

Since about eight years, we have under the title of IK JOT DE DO PRAKASH PRABHU VALMIKI TE GURU RAVI DASS, been promoting through the songs and advertising through the posters.

In the last year (2023), on Bhagwan Valmiki Ji’s Pargat Utsab these posters were displayed all around to pass the message of Unity between the Valmikian and the Ravidassia brotherhood. It attracted a lot of attention.

It must be remembered that the ties between the Valmikian and the Ravidassia brotherhood date back to the Nagh Vansh period.  A lot of research needs to be done into this.

Guru Ravi Dass ji in his Baani has praised Bhagwan Valmiki Ji because he was an Adhivasi and not a Brahmin as being claimed by some.  Guru Ravi Dass Ji’s movement was against the Brahmins.  If Bhagwan Valmiki was a Brahmin, Guru Ravi Dass Ji would not have included him in his Baani.

THE POSTER SUMS IT ALL

I pray on this special occasion for all to be blessed with health, wealth and happiness to last.

JAI BHARAT.
