Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India was the Chief Guest at the event. Mr. Gadkari is also known as ‘The Man of Infrastructure’ in India. He is a dynamic Minister. Under his leadership and vision, road connectivity has multiplied that helps in boosting the trade between different states of India. His vision is to build up roads, infrastructure to boost up connectivity in India is highly appreciated by one & all. MSME is the pillar of exports of India. Mr. Gadkari`s vision is to reduce the cost of logistic.

Mr. Nitin Gadkari has apprised the audience about new road projects launched by his Ministry. He also told that there is a lot of potential for long-term investment in the periphery of new road projects such as opening up multiplexes, food joints, and educational institutions so & so on.

From past records we can presume that Indian business people tend to look for quick economic benefits out of their investments. Indian businessmen or corporates are pessimistic about long-term investments. To attract FDI India needs first & foremost to make an ‘Enabling Environment” in the country to boost up the crippling economy.

Major industrial sectors in India are facing a slowdown due to liquidity crunch. The Government of India needs to take drastic steps to invite foreign investors before the situation slips out of India. Let us not forget that FDI always comes to the growing economies.  The Government of India must carry on with reform in facilitating quick approvals to start a business, labor and land reforms.  No doubt, India is 130 billion consumer market for the world to do business. Indian businessmen must keep in India that 70.6 million people live under extreme poverty. They need to take care of the poor people also by offering charitable donations through CSR Programmes. The dream of making India an ‘Inclusive & Prosperous New India’ can only be fulfilled when the marginalized sections of the society are taken care of.

Mr. Rajeev Talwar, ex IAS officer and currently President, CEO and Whole-time Director of PHD Chamber delivered a welcome address. He applauded various steps such as GST, ‘One Nation, One Constitution’ and recently the cut in corporate tax to accelerate the growth in the country. Mr. Rajeev Talwar is a positive thinking person who believes in the ‘Karma’. He welcomed the Chief Guest Mr. Nitin Gadkari and also presented a memento to the Chief Guest.

Dr. D. K Aggarwal Senior Vice-President of PHD Chamber raised two important points in his presentation. (1) Skill-sets (2) Demographic dividend. India is a young country & there is a lot of potentials that young entrepreneurs can exhaust and make the country a self-reliant country. The problem is that nearly 35 percent youths who possess graduate or above degree are unemployable. All industries are being pinched due to the shortage of skilled manpower despite an independent Skill Ministry working to upgrade the skills in youths to make them employable. India`s Brain Drain is oozing out to USA, Britain, China, Russia & Japan. The country has to invest in the youths of India to have skilled manpower. Innovation & Technology is a prerequisite for a country to sustain in a Globalized World. This need can only be fulfilled by investing & retaining Brain Drain in India. India must learn from the developed countries that invest hugely in skilling the youths and produce the best manpower.

Annual Awards were distributed to the champions of the industry who have positively transformed the lives of millions of people in India. The jury has also selected two prominent women under the category of Outstanding Business Women Award that goes to Ms. Poonam Jain of ISAPL and Ms. Nidhi Maheswari of CIRC. Panel discussions followed by Q/A session was also held.
