Bengaluru, (Asian independent) An 80-year-old man succumbed to COVID-19 in Karnataka, registering 17th death, even as positive cases rose by seven to raise the state’s tally to 415, an official said on Tuesday.
“Till date, 415 corona positive cases have been confirmed. This includes 17 deaths and 114 discharges,” said a health official.
The 80-year-old Kalaburagi man, designated as the state’s 414th positive case was also suffering from Parkinson’s disease since four years.
He was bedridden for the last three years and got admitted in the hospital with Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) medical condition.
Kalaburagi is 575 km north of Bengaluru.
In the past 19 hours, seven new cases emerged, three of them are contacts of earlier cases, two suffering from SARI and one with Influenza Like Illness (ILI).
Only two patients got discharged in the past 19 hours.
Of the new cases, Vijayapura and Kalaburagi accounted for three each and Bantwala, Dakshina Kannada, one.
